Our BootCamp training sessions will be held on Friday, December 17th, and are designed to get you up to speed in a number of technologies, including basic development and design for the Web, and GIS tools and techniques in the humanities.
THATCampVA proper — the unconference you will help us plan — will be held on Saturday and Sunday, December 18th and 19th (wraps up after lunch on the 19th).
Don’t forget that on Saturday evening, Dec. 18, Dzian!, our own international surf-garage rock band, will play a special show for THATCampVA and friends at the 12th Street Tap House. Show starts at 9pm.
And on Sunday afternoon, Dec. 19, after the closing lunch, we’ll have an optional tour for THATCampVA attendees at nearby Monticello, Thomas Jefferson’s historic home. The tour will be free for THATCampers and includes a VIP trip up to the Dome Room. Aim to arrive at Monticello by 2pm, formal tour should wrap by 3:30 or so.
In the meantime, you can view the Scholars’ Lab and Alderman Library on a Google map.
We have reserved rooms at a conference rate at two hotels within walking distance of the Scholars’ Lab. Accepted participants will need to make hotel reservations by November 15.
